23 Civil War Seminar: Michigan Soldiers at Andersonville Prison (Sunfield, Michigan)
The Lansing/Sunfield, Curtenius Guard Camp #17, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) will be sponsoring its next -Free- Civil War History Seminar at 7pm at the Brethren Church, located at 8436 West Grand Ledge Hwy (M-43) in Sunfield, Michigan. The church is located approximately one-half mile west of the four corners (Sunfield Highway and M-43). The speaker for the evening is Chris Czopek. 6 & 7 Company Drill Session/Field Musicians School (Leslie, Michigan)
Tom Emerick will be organizing a full day of infantry drill (Saturday). On Sunday there will be hosting a school for Field Musicians along with some requisite “jam sessions”. Jeff Verstraete has volunteered his culinary skills to cook a period Saturday supper/Sunday breakfast for those attendees planning to stay overnight Saturday. The Harvest Ball will be limited to the first 100 participants. "Our intent is to create a ball so incredibly authentic that the only way to experience a more authentic Civil War ball... would be to actually time travel." 23 - 24 Antietam Battlefield NPS Living History Program (Sharpsburg, Maryland)
The 7th Michigan has been invited to join in the program by Craig DeCrane of the 24th Michigan and our pards in the Iron Brigade. We will be camped near the Dunker Church. Firing demonstrations for the public are on Saturday at 11, 2, and 4 and on Sunday at 11 and 1. They will be recreating the September 17th 1862 advance of the Iron Brigade on Sunday morning. For the entire weekend, we will be representing the 6th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry (the Calico 6th). Following are the uniform guidelines for the event: Hardee Hat – mandatory, Frock coat – highly recommended (the majority of the 6th wore frock coats), Sky blue pants – mandatory, and Gaiters/leggings – highly recommended (the IB was still wearing these at Antietam). 7th Michigan Contact: Thomas Emerick at tomjoemerick@verizon.net

7 Veterans Day Massing of the Colors 2:00 PM (State Library, Lansing, Michigan)
This is put on by the Friends of Michigan History. This is the organization that donates the Battle Streamers for the Jackson event each year.
